1955 FORD THUNDERBIRD! FULLY RESTORED AND READY TO ENJOY!

     What we have is a 1955 Ford Thunderbird which was acquired through an estate purchase. The people who I am working with acquired several vehicles from a local collector who took excellent care of all of his vehicles. From what the previous owners had explained to us as well as what we have gathered through our own observation is that the car was redone professionally from top to bottom. The restoration of the Thunderbird had taken place some time within the past five years. It was completely gone through and redone back to its factory correct specifications. Unfortunately it has sat for the entire winter so it does need a good detailing but she does fire right up and has absolutely zero problems mechanically.

Body: The body on this Thunderbird is very straight, free of bondo, and 100% rust free. The paint is the factory correct "Thunderbird Blue" which is of excellent quality. The chrome through out this Thunderbird, as you will see, has also been completely gone through and is also in good shape. There are no major pitting or scratches through out any of the chrome. The glass through out the Thunderbird also appears to be the original glass and it too is in excellent shape. There is no major pitting or scratches anywhere through out the glass. All of the weather stripping through out the car is also in good shape. The vinyl top as you will see is also new and in excellent shape with no tears or stains. We unfortunately do not have the removable hardtop for the car. The Thunderbird is also sitting on a fairly new set of tires which are also in good shape.

Engine & Mechanical: From what we were told and have gathered by our own evaluation, the motor does appear to be the original matching motor that this Thunderbird came with. It has been gone through and has less than two hundred miles on it. It does not leak, burn an excess amount of fluids, nor does it smoke or make any odd noises. It has a very quiet rumble to it and runs out perfectly. The transmission from what we have gathered also appears to be the original transmission. It too runs out with zero problems. It shifts through the gears with ease as it should and it does not burn an excess amount of fluids nor does it leak. The front end is also very tight on the car and makes for an excellent driving experience. It too has been completely gone through. The Thunderbird sits on drum brakes which are also in good working order. The car does not squeak, pull, or shake when braking.

Interior: The interior as you will see was also completely redone back to its factory correct specifications. It is a "Turquoise & White" color scheme. As you will see it does need a good detailing but it is in great shape. There are no scratches nor tears anywhere through out the upholstery. All of the electrical components also have been gone through and are in good working order. The electrical system has been updated to a 6v system. The wind shield wiper motor works with ease as do all of the gauges, turn signals, head lights, tail lights, and interior lights.

     This is in fact a very very strong number two car and it would not take much at all to make it a solid number one car. I have taken part in restoring many classics over the years and I can tell you that when this car was done, no expense was spared and it was done with the intentions of keeping it around for a very long time. I will gladly listen to all reasonable offers and should the right one come along then I will in fact sell the car early as we do have it for sale "locally". I know from my own experience with purchasing cars online, most of the time it is very difficult to get someone on the phone and to obtain the information you need. So I try to always stay on top of emails and phone calls. We unfortunately do not have a title for this car but one can be obtained at an additional cost.
