1970 FULLY RESTORED
440 FOUR SPEED CHALLENGER! ORIGINAL AC & POWER WINDOW CAR! 100% ORIGINAL
SHEET METAL!
Up
on the block is a 1970 Challenger that was just completed on 7/23/2007. It
has been fully restored and is in excellent condition all the way around.
This car was purchased out of Hawaii which is where the car has spent the
majority of its life as a drag car. The car itself was only used for drag
racing which kept its mileage extremely low. The Challenger has never been
wrecked and the body has never been altered (never been tubbed) and is
completely rust free. The car came originally as a 318 automatic car which
is now converted to a four speed setup. The car also was an original AC
and power window car which it still retains its original power window
setup.
Body:
When my guys obtained this car they were extremely ecstatic to get started
on it. Once they had stripped it down and seen just how rust free and
straight the entire car was, I knew that in no time they would be able to
start assembling and have it out on the road. This car was so straight and
rust free that they did not have to do any kind of repair work to the body. The
floor pans, the trunk, the frame rails, are all original and are in
excellent shape. The fenders as well as the quarters, again are in
excellent shape. All of the glass is original with the exception of the
wind shield which is brand new and was installed approximately a month
ago. All of the weather stripping through out the car is in good shape
which you can see located within the photo's below. The trim through out
the car is complete and in decent shape. The bumpers are also in decent
shape with no major pitting or dings. The paint on the car is an original Mopar color (Sublime Green) and was completed two months ago. It was done
professionally and shines up very nicely.
The suspension on this car as well as the brake system was updated prior
to my guys obtaining the car. All of which are in good condition. The Torque
Thrust II wheel and tire setup is brand new with less then ten miles on
them. On the back is a set of 20's and on the front is a set of 17's. We have used this wheel and tire setup on several of
our other cars and it is just an excellent setup for these E body
Challengers.
Interior:
The interior as you can see within the photos was finished in white which
really makes the car stand out. It is all brand new from top to bottom and
in excellent condition. The door panels are in good condition. The head
liner is brand new and was installed less then a month ago. The dash pad as
you can see within the photos is also refurbished and in excellent
condition. All electrical components within the dash are in good working
order. The power window setup has a small issue with the master control on
the drivers side door but all four motors are in working order. We are
currently looking for a replacement switch for the master control.
Engine:
The engine within this car is a rebuilt 440 steel crank motor which is in
excellent working order. It fires up every single time with zero problems.
It was built on a 1968 Mopar block and was done back to stock
specification's. We estimate that it is pushing about 375 HP comfortably.
It is powered by a 750 Holley Vacuum Secondary carburetor. The motor does not leak,
smoke, or make any odd noises. It is extremely dependable and in excellent
condition.
The Challenger also has a
brand new 26" aluminum radiator.
The transmission is a four speed 833 23
Spline that shifts out smoothly with zero problems. Backing all of this
horse power is an 8 3/4 rear end which is also in excellent working order.
The Challenger has power steering and drum brakes all the way around. The
power steering is in good working order and the brakes are also in good
working order. The power steering does have a very small leak but
mechanically it is sound. The car does not pull or make any odd noises. It drive's
out completely straight and just soars down the high way. The exhaust
system was just installed last week. It is a dual, fully aluminized Turbo
exhaust system with stainless steel tips. It is about 2" 1/4 in size and
gives the car a tremendous sound as well as feel when it is fired up.
If you are
looking for an awesome and dependable car to take out to the shows this
summer then look no further. You just cant beat the 1970 Challenger. With
the Sublime paint, white interior, and the tremendous sound of the 440,
you are destined to stand out no matter where you are at. I strongly
encourage anyone who is interested to please come and check this awesome
Challenger out in person. Also I would like to say that there has never
been a better time to pick up a Challenger then right now. In 2008 we will
be seeing the new Challenger roll out which is only going to drive the
price of these awesome automobiles through the roof. We've all watched it
happen with the Mustangs. So do not hesitate to pick one up! Whether it is
this one or someone else's, you just cant go wrong. One last thing I would
like to ad, if you see something on this Challenger that you would like to
have altered prior to purchasing, just let me know. Nothing is impossible.
Example, if you wanted a spoiler added, AC, or perhaps you wanted to do
with out the wheel setup and wanted a more stock setup, I can have it
done. If you were to go with out the wheel setup and went with a Rally
setup, I could have the price reduced by 1,200. If you would like to check
out some of our other work then please check out my site which you can
view through my ME page located next to my feedback. We do have a clear
title on this Challenger. As always, please do not
hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have. We
do have this car for sale locally and will end the auction early should we
obtain a reasonable offer. Thank you for checking out my auction and good
luck!
Thanks,
