This car was extremely clean and rust free
when the current owner purchased it. The car was owned by the same
individual since the early 80's and was very well taken care of. The
only sheet metal that has been replaced on the vehicle has been the
hood and the trunk lid. Both items are still available. The hood was
removed because the previous owner had attempted to put a hood scoop
on it and it just did not come out correctly. The paint on the car
is less then a month old and was done professionally. All of the
bright work is in excellent shape and what needed replaced got
replaced. The same goes for the trim and bumpers. All of the chrome
shines up nicely and is in excellent shape. The doors open and shut
smoothly as they should. The windows also roll up and down very
smoothly.
Mechanical: The
car still retains its original 390 which runs extremely strong. It
does not smoke or leak. Not only does it
start up and drive like a new car, it's also very very fast. The
four speed transmission we believe has been rebuilt as it shifts
like it was just installed yesterday. It shifts very smoothly and
holds the power of the engine well. Rear end is the original
3.25 Equal Lock. All lights, instruments and gauges work exactly
like they should. The car has factory dual exhausts that were
replaced when the car was restored and are in good shape. This is a factory air conditioning and power
disc brakes car. The AC condenser, evaporator and all lines are there,
it just needs a belt and a shot of Freon. The gas tank is brand new
and was installed professionally.
Interior: This
interior is finished in Decor Blue
and is in excellent shape. Also rare is the center console
and over head console really makes the
interior stand out. Door panels are in excellent shape, as are the
front and rear dash pads. The carpet is also in excellent
condition. All gauges work perfectly as they should, as do the
heater fan and horn.Issues:
The only real issue with this car is the fact
that the current owner installed a hood scoop from a 69 so really it
just comes down to personal preference. Other then that I would say
that the undercarriage could use a good detailing.
Other then the undercarriage being
detailed, I have to say that this car needs absolutely nothing and I
encourage anyone to come and take a look at this beautiful piece of
automotive history in person. The photos just do not do this car any
kind of justice.
