Body:
The body on this Charger is as straight as an arrow. It is completely rust
free and still retains the majority of its original sheet metal. The only
sheet metal that was replaced during the restoration was the trunk pan.
The old one was cut out and replaced with a brand new one. The only thing
that was wrong with the original trunk pan is that it had some minor pin
hole size pieces of rust. All the work was done professionally. The
quarters also had the same issue along the very bottom sides so we went
ahead and replaced them as well. They are not full quarters as those were
not needed. All the sheet metal lines up perfectly. Other then that, the
entire car still retains all of its original sheet metal and is completely
solid. The floor pans, fenders, everything, all in good shape and rust
free. The Charger was repainted back to its original factory color and is
a base coat clear coat setup. PPG paint was used. I would rate the paint a
solid 9 out of 10. The day I took the photos we had just pulled it out of
storage so it was not entirely cleaned up as you will see but again the
paint is absolutely gorgeous in person. All of the trim through out the
car is in good shape as is all of the glass. The front end of the car has
been completely rebuilt and is in excellent shape. The entire grill has
been completely refurbished and is in excellent condition. The mechanical
doors for the hide away headlights open and shut just like new. All of the
weather stripping through out the car is also new. The dual exhaust is
also new and sounds absolutely tremendous. It is a 3 inch setup that leads
to a set of Flowmasters with 2 1/2 inch exhaust pipes. The gas sending
unit as well as the gas tank itself are also new. It has an 8 3/4 open
rear end which is has also been gone through and is in excellent
condition. The Charger sits on a new set of Cragar wheels and a new set of
tires which have less than 500 miles on them. All of the wheel well chrome
is brand new.
Interior:
The interior as you will see is all new, from top to bottom. New door
panels, new headliner, new carpet, new seat covers in the front and back,
new dash pad. The entire Rally Gauge Cluster has been completely gone
through and is in excellent condition. It looks brand new. The steering
wheel was also sent off and refurbished, it took looks brand new. The turn
signals, tail lights, head lights, everything works. The AC system is also
new, charged, and in good working order. The only thing left to finish it
is to hook up the vacuum hoses to the interior of the car which you will
see located below. The AM radio also does not work.
Engine:
The engine in this RT is not the original but it is a date code correct 69
440 block. The motor has been completely gone through and has absolutely
zero problems. It is powered by a Holley 4 Barrel and both are in
excellent working order. The motor does not make any odd noises, smoke, or
burn an excess amount of fluids. The 727 transmission has also been
completely gone through and is in excellent condition. It shifts through
smoothly and does not burn an excess amount of fluid. Both have less than
500 miles on both. The power brake setup has also been completely gone
through and is in excellent working order.
I truly believe that this car is well worth
the money and will make someone extremely happy once they see it in
person. You just cant find many RT Chargers anymore and for the condition
this one is in, you definitely could not build it for what we are asking. I will gladly listen to all
reasonable offers and should the right one come along then I will in fact
sell the car early as we do have it for sale "locally". I strongly
encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a
time to come check it out. We
do have a clear title for this car. I would also like to add that I
am usually on the phone from 7 AM until about 12 AM so you are always
welcome to call and if I do not answer, just leave a message and I will
return your call immediately. I know from my own experience with
purchasing cars online, most of the time it is very difficult to get
someone on the phone and to obtain the information you need. So I try to
always stay on top of emails and phone calls. As always, good luck and
happy bidding!
Thanks,
