This is the car that started it all. If Ford had not created the Pony car the muscle car era would never have been the same. The Mustang broke the mold and changed what an automobile could be forever. This beautiful Vintage Burgundy 65 convertible is more than just a car, it is a work of art that has stood the test of time so well Ford brought the styling cues back for 2005.

This car drives and looks excellent, needs nothing, and is ready for summer cruising!

Mechanical:  The engine is the original 289 V8 with 2 barrel carb that came from the factory rated at 200hp. It starts up and drives out like new, with no rattles, leaks or smoke. The transmission is the original C4 that shifts smoothly as it should. The speedometer, gas gauge and windshield wipers all work as they should, as do all lights and instruments. Overall the car starts, runs and drives out wonderfully, it rides super smooth and needs nothing mechanically.

 
Body: This car was has been fully restored and as you can see from the photos it's in excellent shape. The paint job has been refinished in original 1965 X code vintage burgundy and looks awesome from all angles. Rear floor pans have been replaced, all other sheet metal is factory original and is straight and true and in excellent shape. All chrome, stainless, and bright work are clean. The black top looks and operates perfectly, and appears to be fairly new. All glass and weather stripping look good. The windows roll up and down easily as they should.
 
Interior: This interior is the upgraded black "luxury" package offered by Ford as an option in 1965. Out of the 559,451 Mustangs manufactured in 1965, only 5,338 convertibles were produced with the luxury package interior making this a pretty rare care! The seats look great as do the front and rear dash pads. Door panels front and rear are also in great shape. Carpet is in good shape with no serious wear but has faded a little in some areas as can be seen in the photos.
